Nakiesha Robinson is at it again. The 17-year-old Saint International model has once again captured the attention of the fashion industry with her latest appearance in Calvin Klein's new CK-1 global television commercial campaign. Nakiesha is one of two black models in the commercial, which is filmed in black and white. She shares air time with other star models including Jamie Bouchert from Model Management.

The commercial has begun airing on MTV.

The Calvin Klein campaigns, regarded as one of the more prestigious, has in the past featured supermodels Christie Turlington and Kate Moss.

"It's an extraordinary achievement for us," said Saint CEO Deiwight Peters. "You're talking about a girl in a CK-1 Calvin Klein ad campaign.

"While there is competition from other South African models, it shows that Jamaican girls have the elegance and sophistication to compete for a brand like Calvin Klein," he said. "It speaks to the Saint International/Brand Jamaica thing that we are aiming to put across. It speaks to the fact that there is a calibre of models that Saint is putting out that is totally international."

enviable list of clients

Nakiesha, who has been endorsed by timeless supermodel Naomi Campbell as her successor, has racked up an enviable list of clients since her debut on the international fashion scene two years ago. Some of these clients are fashion's biggest names and include Givenchy, Jeffrey Chow, New York Times, Costume National, Julien McDonald, Teen Vogue, ID Magazine, Dolce and Gabanna, Trace Magazine, Alexander McQueen, Benetton and Kenneth Cole.

Nakiesha's CK-1 campaign, according to Peters, is in keeping with a tradition of success at Saint. "The Calvin Klien brand is one of the world's most powerful fashion brands. As a multicultural brand which goes beyond mainstream fashion, it speaks volumes when we have a Jamaican girl who is a part of such energy," said Peters.

Nakiesha, who was the second CVM Faces of Summer winner, has set the standard for her successors. Last year's winner, Jotasha Turnbull, is now signed to Elite and joins other Saint models Sasha Gaye Hunt and Sosheba Griffiths. With the competition now underway, Peters said the selection process for the next winner would no doubt be more stringent, in keeping with international standards.
