SHANIQUE MITCHELL led the way with five goals yesterday in defending Champions Harbour View United 18-0 thrashing of newcomers Elipse United in the Sherwin Williams Women's football knockout action at the Harbour View Mini Stadium yesterday.

Marvette Francis added four goals and substitute Tasahana Vincenta scored a hat-trick in Harbour View's romp.

Harbour View were less than hospitable to their visitors from Montego Bay, looked far superior to their opponents and seemed to score at will.

They easily strung passes together, many of which rend the Elipse United defensive unit and exposed goalkeeper Symone Service.

Service was later taken out of goal with a sprained finger after an attempt to stop a shot by Francis.

HAT-TRICK

Mitchell and Francis were the only two scorers in the first half. In addition to Vincent's second half hat-trick, goals also came from substitute Georgette White, netting twice. Stacy Ann Johnson, Kimmia Parker, Sharika Brown and Peta-Gaye Soman chipped in with a one goal each.

In other games, Rae Town eliminated Olympic Gardens F.C in what proved to be a hard fought 2-1 victory at the Cling Cling Oval.

Rae Town surged ahead in the 33rd minute courtesy of a goal from Sashan Dobson. They seemed to have the game won but in the 89th minute Olympic Gardens Audrey Whittaker threw her team a life line when she scored to send the match into extra time.

Sophia Rowe broke the hearts of Olympic Gardens when she scored in the 119th minute to put Rae Town into the second round of the competition.
