What about Mitchells Hill?
published: Wednesday | July 27, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

IS MITCHELLS Hill in Clarendon on the map? The only time I saw anything about Mitchells Hill was when my grandfather was featured on 'Hill and Gully Ride'. Three hurricanes have passed and no one has said anything about Mitchells Hill.

The residents are without roads; they too have suffered numerous landslides and they can only say that their MP is Pearnel Charles. I was born there in 1975. I am now 30 years old and ever since then, nothing has been done to the roads. I have been to several other rural communities and they have great roads, so what about Mitchells Hill?

Mr. Pearnel Charles, you need to do something about your constituency. You need to take care of the people who, regardless of their situation, still ride their donkeys to vote for you. If someone should die there, how will a hearse go to retrieve the body? The days of storing the dead at home are over!

For those who don't know, Mitchells Hill is a little district out of Rock River. The people need roads. They have no running water, not even a standpipe and every day you hear other communities being upgraded. What about Mitchells Hill?

I am, etc.,
