'Baby Pansy's' mother charged
published: Thursday | July 28, 2005

PANSY CAMPBELL, a pregnant 33-year-old mother, was charged on Tuesday by the May Pen police with aiding and abetting carnal abuse of a 16-year-old girl.

Ms. Campbell was charged in connection with a carnal abuse case involving her common-law husband Roy McLean. Ms. Campbell was charged after being questioned by police.

Roy Mclean, the father of 'Baby Pansy', the child who went missing in 2002 shortly after she was admitted to hospital in Clarendon, was granted bail on Monday when he appeared in the May Pen Resident Magistrate's court.

He was ordered by the judge not to return to the community of Gimme-Mi-Bit where the offence was allegedly committed. The court was told that McLean committed the offence between September 2003 and May this year.

No court date has yet been set for Ms. Campbell.
