SANDRA SCOTT has been appointed the new regional director for the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) in Canada, effective July 18.
She replaces Pat Samuels, who is leaving Toronto after nearly four years to become the JTB's European regional director, based in Berlin, Germany.
Ms. Scott, a Jamaican by birth, comes to the JTB with over 25 years of experience in the travel and hotel industry in Canada and the Caribbean.
For the past five years, she was the director of sales and marketing for the Delta Toronto East Hotel, which has 371 guest rooms. As a member of the leadership team, she was responsible for sales, marketing and conference, and managed a team of 13 sales managers, conference service managers, marketing coordinator and support staff.
Ms. Scott also spent eight years at the Embassy Suites Hotel, first as the senior sales manager, then as director of sales and finally director of sales and marketing.
