Young 'Boyz' get US visas, leave for T&T

JAMAICA'S UNDER-15 football team has secured United States visas and is scheduled to depart the island at 6:45 this evening to Miami en route to Trinidad and Tobago for the inaugural Caribbean Football Union Youth Cup.

The 18-man squad is headed by Wendell Downswell, head coach, Patrick 'Jackie' Walters, Raymond Grant, the head of delegation, team doctor Dr. Alfred Dawes and Michael Blair, team manager.

The young Reggae Boyz are scheduled to open their account against St. Vincent and the Grenadines tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. Then on Friday, they tackle The Bahamas before playing the British Virgin Islands on August 7. The final and third-place playoffs are set for August 13.

Ten players from KSAFA dominate the 18-man squad with two from Portland, and one each from Hanover, Clarendon, St. James, St. Catherine, St. Elizabeth and Trelawny.

They players are: Adrian Christian, Jermaine Jarrett, Christopher Waugh, Marlon Abraham, Romario Campbell, Oneil Wilson, Marvin Boothe, Ateba Morgan, Akeem Brown and Shadose Hanson (KSAFA). Shavoi Brown and Dever Orgill (Portland), Damaine Thompson (Hanover), John-Ross Doyley (Clarendon), Namar Tummings (St. James), Allan Sylvester (St. Catherine), Roybert Clarke (St. Elizabeth) and Jeffrey Johnson (Trelawny).
