Fabulous women of August celebrate
published: Friday | August 5, 2005

Model Nadine Willis celebrates her birthday today. - FILE PHOTOS

MY DEARS, the summer is definitely here and how. And luvs, it all belongs to the fab women of August!

The age of Leo is already upon us and the partying is under way, as the young and the beautiful, the rich and powerful, lead the age of the lion and lionesses.

My dears, she is the toast of the under class; the much celebrated and heralded example of tenacity, perspicacity, and the indomitable triumph of will over circumstances. When it is all said done, however, there's no denying the triumph that Nadine Willis is, and represents in her march from the world of the burlesque to the crowning world of couture and style and dears, hers is the stuff from which great movie dramas are made, as this is more than just a rags to international runways story.

Anyway, my dears, this truly remarkably lass, celebrates her birthday today and is expected to jet in from the Big Apple, where she has been eating up the runways, in time for her celebrations today.

Way to go girl!

Also celebrating his birthday today, is the very affable general manager of the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, over there on Knutsford Boulevard, in the heart of New Kingston, Eldon Bremner.

Then me daahlings, the fabulous Valerie Juggan-Brown head of the 6,000 employee strong Guardsman Group of Companies, will be blowing out the candles on her birthday cake to mark another successful and fabulous year come next Tuesday.

TO CELEBRATE WITH STAFFERS

This engagingly charming dynamo will begin her celebrations with her staffers and friends at the company's group headquarters, before retiring for a more intimate do with hubby Ron Brown, and their son Marc-Antoine.

On Wednesday, Auguat 10, it will be a family affair save and except a very short list of close friends, as it will be all about the fabulous Issa twins, as the simply fabulous Muna Issa, and her sibling, marketing and PR trendsetting doyenne Zein Issa-Nakash, they being the presumptive heiresses to the SuperClubs chain of fine and wonderfully exciting resorts, will celebrate their special day.

Dears, It promises to be a divine little do and then some. And then again, nothing else is ever the case for this family of iconic social standing and entrepreneurial firsts. And, yes, its restricted to family and very close friends.

Then, if you have not seen her recently, dears, when you do you will not miss her, as the celebrated designer and party-girl Michelle Haynes is looking like all-that these days and how!

Dears, only her cosmetic surgeon knows for sure, and she is definitely not saying, but the buzz is the charming Ms. Haynes has shed quite a bit of the weight she once sported, and for my word, in doing so, she is indeed looking mighty fine!

Me daahlings, those in the know are whispering the word liposuction, others are saying diet and exercise, but whatever the answer, Ms. Haynes, simply beams as she struts her new fab figure around town.

VOLUPTUOUS POUNDS

And speaking of diet and exercise and or liposuction: the debonair politically connected don, is looking even more dapper these days, even as his celebrated companion packs on some more of those voluptuous pounds. He says diet and exercise, others however, say it was a visit to the Ripon Road centre, where the husband and wife duo, are known for their magical scalpels.

Well pumpkins, whatever the deal - dearhearts, both Ms. Haynes and the don are sporting fine new figures and sweet-things, there's no gainsaying the fact that both are looking far more fashionable for it!

More definitely anon.

Then, after a number of years of dating (they started dating each other in 1999) Adrian Weichenberger he an Austrian national and fine chef at Grand Lido Negril SuperClubs resort, and the lovely Sandrene Prendergast she a Jamaican national and accountant at the San Souci Hotel, tied the marital knot two Saturdays ago, in a faultless ceremony, at the oh-so-chic Laughing Waters Estate, near Ocho Rios.

Doves, the buzz is it was one mighty fine outing and then some, with the groom's relations jetting in from Austria, to join the relations of his betrothed in celebrating the union of the two families in a wedding ceremony and reception that had only family and friends in attendance, celebrating the love and union of the young couple.

Sweet things, we are talking a short list here numbering just over 80 and me daahlings, Laughing Waters never looked as fine, done up to facilitate what proved and effortlessly fabulous do!

Precious angels, it was all that, with the couple opting for a Jamaican honeymoon, congrats, dears!

And dears, there's definitely no stopping the creative genius of the y talented Judy-Ann MacMillan.

Dears, still riding on the triumph of her best-selling pictorial My Jamaica, a fabulous compendium of her many works showcasing the beauty of Jamaica and its people, the charming and much celebrated painter's acclaimed works are once again the rave of international art lovers as, Ms. MacMillan, is just back from London, England, where she showed some of her work at the very prestigious Albemarle Gallery, earning rave reviews for her interpretative style and mastery.

Pumpkins, the artist is hot, her body of work, even more so, with her showing at the Albemarle, in mid-July in a show billed as: 'What Is Realism', curated by the celebrated author, painter, critic and historian, Edward Lucie-Smith, earning her work the single honour of being mentioned in a review in the prestigious Evening Standard.

Well dears, wait for it, as the buzz is a Jamaican showing of this great artist's latest works, is now in the offing.
