'Best of the Rest' beat Middlesex North

HALF CENTURIES from Jerome Hamilton and Kemar Lewis enabled the 'Best of the Rest' team to beat Middlesex North by 98 runs in the Kingston Wharves National Under-15 presentation match at G.C. Foster College on Wednesday.

Lewis, 53, and Hamilton, 50, gave their team a good start by putting on 86 for the first wicket which paved the way for the 'Best of the Rest's' 167 for seven off their allotted 35 overs.

Jermaine Blackwood, 20, supported Hamilton and Lewis. Marlon Morgan (2-28) and Damion Wright (2-38) were the best bowlers for Middlesex North.

In reply, Kingston Wharves 2005 champions Middlesex North were bowled out for 71.

In Middlesex North innings' Paul Manning top scored with 19. Gareth Garvey (3-11), Akeem Dewar (3-9) and Osana Johnson (2-10) were the main wicket takers.

At the presentation ceremony, Cornwall South's Kemar Lewis walked away with the MVP award. Lewis scored 149 runs with a top score of 62 not out and took three wickets.

Surrey South's Garth Garvey was named the top all-rounder. He scored 88 runs and took eight wickets.

Marlon Margon had the best bowling figures 6-31 and most wickets 14.

Jerome Fyffe of Surrey South and Dermaine Hall of Cornwall North shared the top wicketkeeper award with nine dismissals each.
