Jamaica through to semis
published: Wednesday | August 10, 2005

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC:

JAMAICA AND Guatemala won their quarter-final matches yesterday to move into the last four of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Youth Cup (Under-15) with four-game winning streaks.

Guatemala floored St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) 4-0 before Jamaica eliminated Martinique 1-0 in a double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The Jamaicans, who scored 40 goals in three matches during their Group B topping preliminary round schedule, were kept at bay by Martinique as the first half ended scoreless.

In the end, a 79th minute goal from the boot of Christopher Waugh advanced the young 'Reggae Boyz' to the semi-finals where they will play the winner of the Canada-Netherlands Antilles match which was played last night.
