Letter of the day - Compulsory evacuation: caution!
THE EDITOR, Sir: I, TOO, am quite concerned about people who ignore warnings about impending danger, and about the resources spent rescuing them, but I do not think that compulsory evacuation is the best solution to these problems.

Travel costs not excessive
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WAS quite amazed by the controversy regarding the $20 million cost of the Prime Minister's overseas trips. I do not find these costs to be excessive by any stretch of the imagination.


Bring back the waving gallery
THE EDITOR, Sir: I READ an article in The Gleaner of July 23, 2005, titled 'Goodbye to the waving gallery'. This was referring to the waving gallery at the Norman Manley International Airport.


Blatant censorship of anti-gay views
THE EDITOR, Sir: IN LIGHT of your story on August 11 titled 'Sumfest penalised for Sizzla's gay bashing', I would like to write a note to the reggae-loving public of Jamaica.
