THE RENAISSANCE Crew blazed up the Palisadoes Strip with musical madness last Saturday as they celebrated 16 years in style.

Renaissance was joined by hundreds of fans and well wishers as they celebrated their achievement by doing what they do best. They party all night.

Patrons waited in long lines even at minutes after one Sunday morning to get into the venue. And there was no turning back once you hit the Palisadoes Strip and felt the vibes coming from the inside on the wave of blazing music.

ENDLESS PARTYING

On the inside, the bars created another attraction to the patrons who frequented. The all night complimentary Red Stripe was enough for most who drank one cup after the other while dancing as if there were no tomorrow.

The party was swinging even before 1:35 with a number of old school rap music that featured rap moguls Snoop Dogg, BIG and Tupac when the selectors announced that they were still in the early segment and hoped to go until seven Sunday morning.

The proceedings took another turn at about 1:55 and was taken to another level with selections like Buju's Til Shiloh and Sizzla's Praise Ye Jah. The crowd seemed absorbed in the music and many used lighters to show their satisfaction.

Several selections from Beenie Man's early catalogue sent the patrons, most of whom were now drinking alcohol at alarming rates, into a dancing trance.

Renewed energy was injected into the party when selector Jazzy T took over. He hyped the crowd by 'dropping' Gyptian's Serious Times dub plate, then mixing in Sizzla's Ain't Gonna See Us Fall before easing into the selections from the Hardtimes Rhythm. The crowd went wild.

ICE BREAKA RHYTHM

The Renaissance crew, with Delano and Dre behind the turntables and Jazzy T handling the microphone, officially launched their Ice Breaka rhythm. The crowd seemed captivated by some of the selections and sexily attired females hung on to their partners as they gyrated to the music.

Jazzy T then handed over selecting duties to members of the HMV Sound System from Miami. The HMV selectors, who were just as pleasing as the other Djs, continued to blaze the fire with a Junior Gong Jamrock dub and several selections from Beres Hammond and Buju Banton.

The party was still in swing at minutes to five though the promised performance by Elephant Man, Busy Signal, Kurupt and Friends had not yet happened when The Star team left the venue.
