GUCCI/VOGUE MODEL Nadine Willis, celebrated another birthday in fine style at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Friday.

Local celebrities, models, media, and politicians mingled in the cosy setting of the Belissario Suite while early '70s and '80s disco music provided a fitting soundtrack for the night.

It was as good a celebration as any for Nadine, who, dressed in a two-piece couture outfit designed by Claudia Pegus, reminded the guests that she is 'still 25.'

Many of the guests who were also celebrating birthdays in August, a fact that Nadine says informed her choice of invitees, murmured in agreement. One person went as far as saying 'I'm still 19.'

ON THE HOUSE

Food and drink were, as expected, on the house, and guests enjoyed from a selection which included jerked chicken and pork, and shrimp and fish.

Ashley Martin, lead singer of Byron Lee and the Dragonnaires offered a happy birthday song amid the celebrations. Soon after, Nadine's daughter Tatjana, a bright, effervescent six-year-old girl took the microphone and in a touching moment also delivered a birthday song.

Nadine later cut the cake with the help of Zein and Mona Issa and Eldon Bremner, general manager of the Jamaica Pegasus. She expressed gratitude to them, her "Pegasus family" and to all who had attended for supporting her.

SPEECH

And as is usual, wherever there is a politician there is also a speech. Member of Parliament Olivia 'Babsy' Grange gave a brief tribute to the birthday girl, saying - "Not many people can walk with kings and queens and not lose the common touch. Nadine you're a real person. Nadine has not lost herself and she shows appreciation." Everyone present seemed to agree with the sentiments.

Nadine's propensity to contribute to charity was also acknowledged with the presentation of a cheque of $20,000 to be made to her favourite charity.
