File photo shows former Harbour View full back Robert Scarlett making a pass, which his Constant Spring opponent Fabian Watkins attempts to block during a Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Jackie Bell quarter-final match that Constant Spring won 1-0 last season. Scarlett is likely to make his MLS debut today for Real Salt Lake City.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, CMC

Jamaican defender Robert Scarlett is set to make his United States Major League Soccer (MLS) debut today for Real Salt Lake (RSL) in their home assignment against San José.

RSL announced this week that new signings Scarlett and Gustavo Cabrera, of Guatemala, have been cleared by U.S. Immigration and are eligible to play in today's fixture at Rice-Eccles Field.

Scarlett, who helped Jamaica win the Digicel Caribbean Cup in Barbados in February, transfers from Harbour View FC in Kingston and is expected to give RSL some energy, speed and skill on the left side.

He joins his international teammate Andy Williams and Trinidadian Leslie Fitzpatrick as Caribbean players on the RSL roster.

kansas city face chicago

MLS action continued last night with the Kansas City Wizards, on the verge of signing another Jamaica and Harbour View player, Jermaine Hue, playing at home to Chicago.

In other games today, Columbus Crew face FC Dallas at Crew Stadium, and DC United meet LA Galaxy at RFK Stadium.

At Giants Stadium tomorrow, Chivas-USA are away to the MetroStars.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines international Ezra Hendrickson is listed as "questionable" for Chivas because of a thigh strain.
