IT WILL take more than just skill to snatch victory in today's Tru Juice/JMMC Gravel Stages Rally, which gets under way today at the Tru Juice Sports Club in Bog Walk, St. Catherine.

In fact, according to the Errol Anderson, who has been involved in the planning of the stages, there have been some significant changes to this year's course. He said the event promises to be one of the most challenging rallies on the local circuit this year.

"We have been out all week looking at the stages, the rainfall since Monday has made the course more compact and not muddy," said Anderson, who is also the president of the JMMC.

... AND THEY'RE OFF

The first car is scheduled to flag under way at 9:30 a.m. The rally finishes at 3:30 p.m. Prize-giving will take place about an hour after the last car crosses the finishing line. Prior to the start of the event, the participants will travel in a convoy across the stages, this will take place at 7:00 a.m.

There will be two physical stages, at Bybrook and Wakefield. These stages will be run more than once. The two popular spectator stages will be the 'Water Splash' and 'Strollies Corner'.

Among the top contenders for the title are: Gary Gregg, David Summerbell Jr, Doug Gore, Christopher McFarlane, Chippy Addision and Raj Jadusingh. Gregg, who has been in good form, won the August 7 Dirt Sprint at the Spot Valley track, St. James.
