Producer/artiste Barry 'King Fresh' Robinson and his beautiful wife Carol Robinson. - CONTRIBUTED
BARRINGTON ROBINSON has always prayed for a wife. The music producer and deejay known as 'King Fresh's' prayers were answered on August 14, when he married Carol Robinson at a wedding ceremony that guests labelled fabulous.
The couple met 15 months ago in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. Carol Robinson's looks literally stopped traffic. Mr. Robinson was driving and saw her on the sidewalk. She amazed him and at that moment he said he knew she was the wife he wanted.
In traffic, he stopped his van and walked after her, not caring that other drivers were honking at him.
Mr. Robinson convinced her to give him her telephone number. That night, says Mrs. Robinson, he called at 2:00 a.m. Since then the couple has stuck together, overcoming a long-distance relationship because Mrs. Robinson, a nurse, doesn't reside in Jamaica.
The engagement was as special as it was surprising. He had gone to pick her up at the airport and, in a casual conversation, asked if she thought she would marry him. She gave a positive response and, while holding her hand, he slipped on the ring he was hiding from her.
GOOD QUALITIES
"He's like everything a woman would want. He has good qualities; he's the best and I love everything about him - he's special," says Mrs. Robinson.
Mr. Robinson shares his wife's sentiments. "I have been with women and mi no see nothing like she. She's just different and extremely caring."
Mr. Robinson notes that the wedding was perfect, couldn't be better. "The love that emanates, the mutual feelings, the happiness and the joy that was there between us just made it perfect," says Mr. Robinson.
The afternoon wedding was held at Bridge Palm Resort, Toll Gate, Clarendon. The theme colours were shades of ivory and pink. Witnessed by 60 guests, the couple danced to the Bob Marley classic love song, Three Little Birds. The highlight of the afternoon, however, was when Robinson performed the song titled Carol that he wrote and recorded for his wife.
