THE NEW performance evaluation for teachers, the Task Force on Education Report and salary negotiations are key issues on the agenda of the 41st annual conference of the Jamaica Teachers' Association (JTA) which gets under way today.

The conference is being held at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Hotel in Ocho Rios, St. Ann.

Prime Minister P.J. Patterson is scheduled to be the keynote speaker at today's first session of the the three-day conference under the theme: 'Education; Creating Opportunities, Realising Potential, and Achieving Excellence'.

At a function later tonight, Ruel Reid will be officially installed as the president of the organisation.
