Partnership pact to be revealed
THE PRIVATE Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is to make the details of its proposed tri-partite 'Partnership for Progress' agreement with Government and trade unions public shortly.

DES MOINES, Iowa: MAYTAG CORP. has signed a formal agreement to be acquired by its larger appliance making rival Whirlpool Corp. for more than US$1.7 billion in cash and stock, the company said yesterday.


Chamber predicts gloomy fall tourist season for Negril
NEGRIL, Hanover: THE NEGRIL Chamber of Commerce (NCoC) has predicted that the upcoming fall tourist season, spanning the beginning of September to mid-December, will be very gloomy for the resort town.
