JAMAICANS DWIGHT Thomas and Brigitte Foster-Hylton scored impressive victories at the Grand Prix track and field meet in Linz, Austria yesterday.

Thomas, 25, won the 100 metres dash in a personal best of 10.00 seconds ahead of Britain's Jason Gardner (10.09) and Aziz Zakari (Ghana, 10.10).

In the process, Thomas, the former Calabar High School star athlete, became the fourth fastest Jamaican runner behind Asafa Powell (9.77), Raymond Stewart (9.96) and Percival Spencer (9.98).

TURNED TABLES ON PERRY

Sprint hurdler Foster-Hylton turned the tables on world champion Michelle Perry to win her pet event in 12.65 seconds. Perry finished second in 12.70 ahead of Germany's Kirsten Bolm in 12.75.

Joint national champion Delloreen Ennis-London finished sixth in 12.84 and Vonette Dixon was eighth in 13.03.

Chris Williams ran 20.46 for second in the 200m behind Trinidad and Tobago's Aaron Armstrong (20.38). No Jamaican women took part in the 100 or 200 metres but fellow Caribbean athletes took home the bacon as Bahamian Chandra Sturrup sprinted away in the 100m in 11.01 seconds ahead of Americans Me'Lisa Barber (11.13) and Angela Daigle (11.28).

Cydonie Mothersill of the Cayman Islands claimed the 200m in 23.05, holding off the US pair of Stephanie Durst (23.19) and Angela Daigle (23.25).
