Edward Seaga should shut up
published: Saturday | August 27, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I HOPE Edward Seaga (who wrote an article in The Sunday Gleaner, August 21) realise that he also contributed to the demise of the educational system in Jamaica.

I experienced the struggles under both regimes through primary school to university.

We need comprehensive programmes with both long and short term objectives to improve the lot of the Jamaican people.

The outcome must be tangible by reflecting improvement in standard of living and opportunities for success. Everyone seems to become blind when they are given the opportunity to effect positive changes and only when that opportunity is removed that they regained vision.

Frankly, I think he should shut up, as Jamaicans are fed up hearing these politicians coming up with these revelations when they are on the sidelines.

I am certain that, in the future the learned lawyer, P.J. Patterson, will be writing the same thing. It's disgusting.

I am, etc.,
