CSEC WHIZ-KIDS - Perfect model of dedication, study
published: Tuesday | August 30, 2005

Petrina Francis, Education Reporter

KELLY

SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD Camelia Kelly is a shining example of what hard work and dedication can forge - she gained six subjects at the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examination.

Camelia, a former student and head girl of Donald Quarrie High School in east Kingston, said she was not surprised by her achievement because "I know I did my best."

She attributes her success to hard work and dedication.

According to Camelia, while at school, she ensured that she paid attention in class.

The Donald Quarrie student, who hopes to become a pharmacist, says her former school did not offer chemistry and biology and, therefore, she will be sitting those subjects this academic year. She will then be moving on to the University of Technology where she will pursue a bachelor's degree.

When not studying, Camelia, who resides in Portmore with her aunt and cousin, enjoys watching TV and reading novels.
