THE SHIPPING Association of Jamaica (SAJ) recently awarded six scholarships to the children of SAJ staffers who have been successful in the GSAT exams.

The awards are presented annually.

"We are proud of your achievements and are pleased to reward you while encouraging you to work toward further success," Diana Reynolds, human resource manager of the Shipping Association of Jamaica (SAJ), told the awardees.

This year's SAJ scholarship recipients are: Shamoye Burke, Bryan Byfield, Latoya Duffus, Leon Ellis, Jayvaughn Forbes and Mario McIntosh. Suelen Nelson, the SAJ's human resource officer, explained to the youngsters, who begin high school in September, that the scholarships are renewable throughout their high school years, providing they maintain a 'B' average grade.

Mrs. Reynolds assured the scholarship recipients that the SAJ would continue to support them throughout their academic life if they maintain high standards in and out of the classroom.
