Gwen Stefani tops style icons list
published: Thursday | September 1, 2005

STEFANI

BANGSHOWBIZ.COM:

GWEN STEFANI says she can't consider herself a sex symbol because she still thinks of herself as "fat little dorky kid."

The stunning singer admits she is shocked that men lust after her now she has grown up because she was overweight and unattractive as a teenager.

She said: "I still think of myself as a fat little dorky kid from Orange County who desperately wants to be cool."

Gwen admits she is also surprised people think she is stylish.

The 35-year-old blonde, who is famed for her outrageous dress sense, recently topped fashion bible Harpers & Queens style icon list, beating Kate Moss to the coveted top spot.

However, Gwen, who has her own fashion range, L.A.M.B, says she was stunned after being handed the prestigious title ahead of one of the world's top supermodels.

She said to Britain's Grazia magazine: "I saw the Harpers list and I was above Kate Moss, who is amazingly stylish. I never thought anyone else would get me."
