Is JPS a gold-digger?
published: Thursday | September 1, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THE JAMAICA Public Services Company is simply doing what many other business entities have done. They have come into this country to make a profit by any means necessary and who this affects is of no concern to them.

This is an investor's paradise and what they have done is to simply exploit the poor to make a profit. If it were a country where those in charge looked out for the citizens and their well-being none of this would be happening. I suggest that the name of the company be changed because they are doing the Jamaican public no service by constantly raising the cost when they see persons struggling to make ends meet. No one goes into a business venture unaware of the consequences unless they are foolish, so this explanation being given by the JPS is simply unacceptable.

I am, etc.,

TEKEL INGRAM

Portmore, St.Catherine
