Whose money?

THE EDITOR, Sir:
IN AN article in your Saturday edition, it was stated that Minister Dalley, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. McIntosh and Mr. Bailey will be travelling to Biloxi, Mississippi to quote "Get a first-hand view of the situation." Is this the only reason for the journey? Apparently, since the article further stated that the Jamaican workers were safe and accounted for. So, what's the point of travelling?
May I ask whether these gentlemen are travelling on invitation of the American government or are they using Jamaican taxpayers' money? Why does one need to get a first-hand view if you can just watch CCN which inundates (no pun intended) you with information? The money spent for this trip could be spent more efficiently once the US asks for assistance.
I am, etc.,
