Let us be constructive
published: Tuesday | September 13, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

THERE IS a wise saying, if you can't make things better for God's sake, please don't make it worse. This message needs to go around hastily, especially to those who seek every opportunity to get popularity.

What is needed is unity and this will help. This unity doesn't mean gathering some people to disrupt the peace of others; this is not making things better, this is making things worse and at the same time, we are shedding crocodile tears about the poor. If we care about the poor in these situations, we should be careful to do and say things constructive and not disruptive, politicians and union leaders.

Business people are the chief ones to do things which put up costs for the poor, then they blame the government. All this is making things harder for the poor and if we continue this way, we will crush the poor to dust. 'Blessed is he who considers the poor...' May God help us to behave wisely. Unity is strength.

I am, etc.,

A.A. WHITE

Manchester
