ST. JOHN'S, Antigua:
THE WEST Indies will host the Zimbabwe and India national cricket teams next year. Zimbabwe will arrive in the region on April 12 for a month-long tour during which they will play two Test matches and five one-day internationals before leaving on May 15.
The Zimbabweans will engage the University of the West Indies Vice Chancellor's XI in a three-day game at the Three W's Oval, Cave Hill campus, Barbados prior to the first Digicel Test in Guyana. They will also have a one-day practice match in Trinidad prior to the start of the Digicel One-Day International Series also in Trinidad.
West Indian fans will also see the first day/night one-day international in the region when the teams meet in St Lucia on May 10.
The Indian team arrives on May 15, the same day that the Zimbabweans depart.
During their six-week tour, India will play four Test matches and five one-day internationals. A one-day practice game in Jamaica will precede the first Digicel One-Day International, which will also be played in Jamaica.
The Indians will play a three-day game in Nevis against the West Indies Cricket Board XI before going to St Kitts for the fourth Test, the first to be played in St Kitts. The Digicel 2006 Home Series ends with the departure of the Indian team on July 5.
