Bail extended for rape accused

DR. MATT Myrie, the 31-year-old gynaecologist, who is charged with raping a patient at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in February this year, appeared in the Home Circuit Court on Friday.

Mr. Justice Wesley James extended his $500,000 bail for him to return to court on October 21 when the case will be mentioned.

He is facing two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault.

The Crown is alleging that the offences were committed on February 26 in the Ultra Sound Room at the hospital where Dr. Myrie is attached.
