Best wishes for Basil Dawkins

THE EDITOR, Sir:
KINDLY GRANT me space to compliment Basil Dawkins for once again educating and entertaining theatre-goers and transporting us, however briefly, to Broadway, New York City, or to the Haymarket, London.
It was good to see practising psychiatrists being given the ritual lampooning which is a standard event in the theatre, ancient and modern. More important in my view were the human insights, sensitivity, and decorum with which interper-sonal and class relations were portrayed. The soliloquies were beautifully done by the seasoned Munair Zacca, as well as by the gardener boy played by Jerry Benswick. In them we seem to get a peek of Basil Dawkins' world view, personal philosophy and faith.
The view of Heaven's Gate without a St. Peter was probably a first in theatre history: highly arresting and pleasing visual effects, nonetheless. The lady playing God was a new face to me. I believe many men could live with a God like that. The cast, crew, director, Buddy Pouyatt and the playwright deserve the highest commendation. My theatre-going party of friends and I join many thinking people of goodwill in wishing Basil Dawkins long, productive, and gratifying years.
I am, etc.,
