WESTERN BUREAU:

FORMER CHAMPIONS Cornwall College will be hoping to rebound from last Saturday's loss to Anchovy High when they take on newcomers Irwin High at Jarrett Park, in one ISSA Pepsi/JN daCosta Cup Zone A game this afternoon.

Nine games are scheduled in four zones as teams continue to jostle for positions in the first round.

Cornwall were surprised 3-0 by Anchovy on a day of upsets and dropped all the way to fifth place in the competitive Zone A on goal difference.

Saturday's loss was Cornwall's worst to a Zone A team in over 15 years and the second ever win for Anchovy over the Dr. Dean Weatherly-coached team in nine years.

BAD PATCH

Irwin have lost all three games played so far in their debut season, conceding 15 goals in the process and will be hoping to catch Cornwall in a bad patch to get at least a point.

There were two other upset results on Saturday; Grange Hill beat Frome Technical at Frome, their first win over the 2003 champions since the 2002 season, while Denbigh shocked former champions Clarendon College 3-1.

Also today, Cedric Titus will be seeking to hold unto their lead in Zone C, while Bog Walk, Charlemont and Tacky will be seeking to take over the lead in their zones by scoring wins.

Cedric Tutus are coming off a 2-0 win over Marcus Garvey on Saturday and will be going after their third straight win, after losing to Ocho Rios High.

Bog Walk and Charlemont are in a three-way tie with McGrath for second place on four points, and a win today would see them overtaking the idle Old Harbour at the top of Zone J.

Charlemont won one of the two games between both teams last year while the other was drawn and although they have scored four goals to Bog Walk's two so far, they have also conceded five so far.

Tacky High, in their second year in the competition, will be looking to go to the top of Zone K, ahead of Brimmervale if they can beat Islington for the first time, after losing both games last year.
