published: Thursday | September 22, 2005

THE WINNERS of the Jamaica Stock Exchange Stock Market Research Competition will be announced at an Awards Luncheon at the Knutsford Court Hotel on Friday September 23, 2005. Among the awards to be presented is the coveted Broker-Analyst of the Year Award.

Mr. Ryland Campbell, Chairman of Capital & Credit Financial Group Ltd. is slated to be the guest speaker.

The Competition was launched by the JSE in July 2002 to increase the involvement of stock market analysts and market watchers in the stock-market through deeper analysis of performance of listed companies over a one-year period and to enhance the individual research skills of the participants enabling them to better service their clients.

Through the competition the JSE also wished to stimulate listed companies to increase the content and timeliness of the information they give to shareholders.

The overall winner of the first competition was Dehring Bunting & Golding's, Justin Nam. The main prize winner of the 2004 Competition will walk away with a cash prize of $100,000 which was donated by Capital & Credit Merchant Bank Ltd.

The entrants were judged by a panel headed by Mr. Harry Abrikian, Snr. Lecturer, Mona School of Business.
