BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC:
ATTACKING BATSMAN Dwayne Smith displayed more of his trademark savagery en route to a half century as the four-day West Indies practice match ended in a predictable draw at the Three Ws Oval yesterday.
The 22-year-old right hander, who had smashed a whirlwind 47 in the first innings, returned to hammer a stroke-filled 57 as Sylvester Joseph's XI finished at 158 for five off 31.5 overs.
He hit three fours and four sixes and was the highlight in the innings as only opener Daren Ganga with 37 and Joseph, 19, showed any commitment.
Smith dominated a 78-run, fifth-wicket stand with Ryan Hinds who was unbeaten on 15.
Dwayne Bravo finished with two for 22 while Deighton Butler took two for 37.
Earlier, Omari Banks took his overnight 29 to 47 and Tino Best weighed in with 36 as Shiv Chanderpaul's XI were dismissed for 434, after resuming the day at 305 for four.
Left hander Wavell Hinds, unbeaten on 16 overnight, added just two to his score.
Ian Bradshaw finished with two for 43 while Fidel Edwards grabbed two for 59.
