WATERHOUSE PLAYED to a listless 0-0 scoreline with Reno, taking their tally of draws to two in as many games.
After last week's 1-1 draw with Rivoli, Waterhouse coach, Calvert Fitzgerald was a worried man.
"We definitely have a problem scoring goals. Defensively we played a good game, but attackingly we didn't do as well as we wanted. Other players need to contribute," said Fitzgerald.
Reno's new coach, veteran Bradley Stewart, was pleased with his team's point-win.
"To come on the road and get a point is critical to move up in the table. What we need to do now is win the points at home," said Stewart.
In truth, Waterhouse should have come out winners. They shut down Reno for the most part and had the lion's share of possession.
To be fair to Reno though, they defended well, even when Robert Haughton was shown the red card in the 74th minute.
However, as early as the 17th minute, Vincent Earle was the orchestrator of a lovely triangle combination with Kevin Lamey and Weston Forrest that should have ended in a goal.
Then there was an acrobatic 25-yard attempt by Shane Edwards in the 25th minute.
Edwards was at it again in the 32nd when he headed power-fully but failed to find the target.
Lamey was again in the thick of things when he nodded an Earle cross wide of the target.
As Earle tired in the second half, so did the chances that Waterhouse were able to create, and apart from one miscued control from Lamey inside the box, Waterhouse never looked much like scoring.
