HEALTHY CHOICES - Patty as health food
published: Wednesday | October 12, 2005

A PATTY is still perhaps the most affordable lunch choice. Vegetables, chicken and fish patties are already on the market as healthy alternative to the traditional beef patty.

Now there is the a soy-based patty -- the Mother's Power Patty.

This patty is said, by its makers, to have a low cholesterol soy-based filling, packed with protein, an important nutrient to build and repair the body. Though the power patty has soy-based filling (not meat), it tastes just like the regular beef patty. It is not, however, entirely vegetarian since the makers indicated that beef shortening is used in the crust to give it a flaky texture.
