David McBean elected new MAJ chairman

DR. DAVID McBean, president of the CVM Communications Group, has been elected new chairman of the Media Association of Jamaica (MAJ).

He was elected on Tuesday at the association's annual general meeting.

He succeeds Brian Schmidt of Irie FM, who did not seek re-election.

Dr. McBean lists press freedom, libel and defamation, media research, and action on crime and violence, as the main focus of his tenure.
