Associating with criminals?

THE EDITOR, Sir:
I THINK it's rather interesting that Babsy Grange was shot at. What makes it even more interesting is that if it wasn't for being shot at, we would never know that she was driving around with some of the most notorious gunmen in the Spanish Town area. Of course, we have to believe her that she was there to discuss peace, rather than reporting their whereabouts to the police, as any politician should do. Is there no statute for associating with known criminals?
It's also interesting to note that in the middle of what has been termed as one of the biggest manhunts in Tivoli Gardens' history, the MP is front and centre along with his supporters, ready to bawl about police brutality at the drop of a hat. Who tipped him off? The problem with Tivoli has always been the same - they are afforded political cover and back it up with an enviable arsenal. They show no respect for the police or the JDF and shoot at them indiscriminately, yet the police are not supposed to be nervous? Perhaps the Honourable so and so, should try and place himself in their shoes, that is, go on a job where death may occur. The fact that they do so for a mere pittance is remarkable. I would not do it. How many out there would?
I am, etc.,
