Electronic mail and passing gas
published: Saturday | October 15, 2005

Jah Foresight, Contributor

ELECTRONIC MAIL is a wicked and good invention. It is hard to see written communication getting any better. One can never overlook the feedback to this column and I will wish to reply to each, but my Internet connection is down. I would love if one of you can give me a good viable solution, so I can stop visiting the Internet café.

One letter requested my thoughts on natural disasters. My name is not Nostradamus or Eminent and I am not an obeah man. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita came and hit the southern states. God is just showing that He is the Creator. For the thousands who die in the mountains of Afghanistan, India and Pakistan because of an earthquake is just Allah or Jah shaking up people to return to love. This is the same set of hills where Bin Laden has his empire. Did you hear about the Bin Laden of Jamaica? This is indeed a rake.

'THE PASSING OF WIND'

Another letter asked about my consideration of 'the passing of wind' at Kingston College as a rake. I do not intend to use the Latin word. Please remember that emission of gas is as natural as cow eating dry grass without shades. Boys will always be boys. When I used to go to high school (I did), I know of some friends who specialised in the art. Imagine this. You are having a test after lunch with niggeritis setting in and the class was not properly prepared or ready. The bomber will have to play. First, you release the first one as the teacher enters the room and the next one five minutes after and with the right texture of scent, the mission is completed.

Please do not feel that boys only do this emission. I was in Cape Town, South Africa, at a high society fashion show where I was cheering on a Saint model who was mashing up the place as only a Jamaican can. I went back stage to congratulate her only to be greeted by the familiar sounds of the Zeppelin. The other girls seemed to be releasing their tension in the changing room. By the quality of the sounds, one would come to the conclusion that some squeezing was being done. These were some of the top female models in the world. I do not think that 'the passing of wind' at the popular school is a good rake.

Another letter asked who is the average lotto buyer. I think the marketing department of Supreme Ventures will love to know that answer. My idea of the typical punter is someone between 25 and 65. Some 40 per cent of the players are women who weigh over 160 pounds. Women do buy lotto, just look at the number of jackpot winners. The men are normally rum drinkers but a God-fearing. They are always able to quote the Bible better than many priests. Most buyer are self-employed or at the lower end of the income range.
Every punter dreams of big house and bling cars instead of giving to their relatives or in-laws.

LAST TWO JACKPOTS

There was no winner of last Saturday. The numbers were: 6 (strongman, stone, iron); 13 (police, knife, comb); 28 (adultery, fowl, spirit); 35 (goat, shopping); 36 (old lady, donkey, sore); 37 (computer, cell phone, dvd) and the bonus ball of 26. Please note the consecutive numbers of 35, 36 and 37.

The jackpot for this Saturday is $26 million. The numbers for the last draw on Wednesday were: 6 (strongman, stone iron); 12 (head, principal); 15 (rat, kiss); 24 (carpenter, praising god); 35 (goat, shopping); 37 (cell phone, microwave, laptop) and the bonus number of 17. There was no consecutive numbers. The previous draw had too many. However, 6, 35 and 37 were back in the mix.
