Emergency cases only at UHWI
published: Sunday | October 23, 2005

WATER WOES have forced the University Hospital of the West Indies to accept only emergency cases in its Accident and Emergency Unit.

According to a release from the institution, the decision to cut back on the service to the public was taken because of the unavailability of water to the facility from the National Water Commission.

"We expect this situation to continue on the weekend," the release said. The hospital promises to resume full operation as soon as normal water supply is restored.
