LETTER OF THE DAY - People must pressure MPs for protection
THE EDITOR, Sir: I AM totally horrified, sick to the stomach and deeply, deeply troubled by the state of Jamaica. Is there a war going on? Why have Jamaican men descended to such barbarism and utter disdain for life?

Junk science confusing many
THE EDITOR, Sir: YES, THE temperature in the Atlantic has warmed and the probable cause for this is volcanic activity in the Antarctic. It has absolutely nothing to do with people using their automobiles nor industrial pollution.

Solving crime and violence
THE EDITOR, Sir: A RECENT report from an international monitoring agency stated that Colombia, Jamaica and South Africa, in that order, have the highest murder rate per capita in the world...

Good job by cops on cutting road deaths
THE EDITOR, Sir: I WOULD like to congratulate Senior Superintendent Elan Powel, head of the police traffic department, for his efforts in reducing the number of traffic fatalities on our roads.
