published: Friday | October 28, 2005

TIVOLI GARDENS and Jamaica College will put their unbeaten streaks on the line this afternoon when they face-off in the Walker Cup quarter-finals, starting 3:00 pm at the National Stadium.

Tivoli finished at the top of Group D with 20 points. Jamaica College topped Group A with 16 points.

The fixture will see both teams at full strength and is expected to be a highly competitive one. The teams advanced to the Walker Cup in fairly comfortable fashion. Jamaica College hammered José Marti 9-0. Tivoli started a second-string team and were able to hold Waterford to a 1-1 draw.

In the day's opening game, Charlie Smith High, who advanced from Group B as the best second place team following a 3-2 victory over Dunoon Technical, will tackle Group E winners Eltham, who advanced courtesy of a 4-0 thrashing of Bridgeport.

In tomorrow's fixture, Group B winners Calabar will encounter next-best second place team St. Andrew Technical whereas Group F winners Wolmer's will challenge Group C winners Norman Manley High.
