General Accident, BNS 'A' in title decider
published: Saturday | October 29, 2005

Paul-Andre Walker, Staff Reporter

IN A replay of last season's Business House Netball Association's Senior League final, defending champions, General Accident will play against Bank of Nova Scotia 'A' for a chance at immortality.

General Accident, who have been enjoying an unbeaten season, made their way into the final by virtue of a 56-19 drubbing of Heart Trust NTA on Tuesday.

BNS 'A' had to fight a little harder for their place with destiny, as they were restricted to 34 points in their game against Jamaica Broilers, who ended with 26.

BNS 'A' haven't had as dominant a season as their arch rivals, because they, unlike their opponents in the final, have been beaten.

They were clipped in a preliminary round game by Jamaica Broilers, and although their return to winning ways shows a fortitude of character, their loss certainly shows that they might not be in the same class as their final day nemesis.

In the Intermediate 'A' division, the final will be played between Cable and Wireless and the Jamaica Sugar Company, who have both had undulating seasons, will provide good competition for each other

Cable and Wireless maintained the status quo and got to the final ahead of the Department of Correctional Services 'A' in a tight 34-31 game.

MORE SURPRISED

However, the Jamaica Sugar Company are a little bit more of a surprise. While the top four teams were quite close in terms of their points difference at the end of the preliminary round, they were decidedly behind West Indies Synthetics Company (WISYNCO) in the standings. They managed to turn that around in a hurry, with a 28-22 victory. As far as they are concerned they only need to pull off the same kind of performance once more.

In the Junior League final scheduled for tomorrow, the National Housing Development Corporation, after a 23-20 victory over the Jamaica Infrastructure Operators (JIO), will do battle against Victoria Mutual Building Society for top honours.

The Intermediate 'B' final will be played between winners from the games between Digicel and Salada and from the semi-final between, Grace and Shell, games which were scheduled for last night.
