WATERHOUSE LOST out on a glorious opportunity to move closer to a place in the first End-of-Round Final last night, after playing to a 0-0 draw with newcomers Boys' Town in Wray and Nephew National Premier League action at Waterhouse Mini Stadium.

Playing in front of a good Drewsland crowd, Waterhouse muffed opportunity after opportunity to the chagrin of their fans.

Boys' Town, to their credit, looked more than capable and put on a physical second-half performance that matched the attacking intensity of the Waterhouse midfield.

In response to what was their fourth draw in consecutive games, Waterhouse coach Calvert Fitzgerald said his team, which now has 16 points, has work to do.

"I'm very disappointed. We did some hard work and we needed to get the three points in this game. Something is definitely wrong in our attacking third and we need to sort that out," explained Fitzgerald.

Both teams were reduced to 10 at the 68th minute when Waterhouse's Demar Phillips and Boys' Town's Xavean Virgo were given marching orders by referee Peter Prendergast for striking each other in an off-the-ball incident.

Virgo was sent off moments later, but on the word of assistant referee Anthony Garwood.

With both teams having 10 men, the game opened up a little towards the end with Kevin Lamey striking the right upright from inside the box.

Boys' Town, which inched up to 11 points, also had opportunities to steal it in the end when substitute Ricardo Munroe failed to make contact on a pass that skidded in front of him.

"You look at the game, we fought and played with a lot of character and with a little bit more luck we could have scored those two opportunities in the last 10 minutes of the game," explained Boys' Town coach Andrew Price, referring to another chance that had gone abegging.
