LLOYD WRIGHT , father, and coach Rev. Glen Archer congratulate Khandae Wright of Mavisville Preparatory School, who won the Gleaner's Children's Own newspaper Kingston parish finals yesterday at the newspaper's downtown Kingston offices.

Meanwhile, in light of the upsurge in violence in parts of Spanish Town, the Gleaner Company Ltd. has rescheduled the St. Catherine Spelling Bee parish finals. It will now take place on Thursday, November 3, at the newspaper's North Street offices, downtown Kingston, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The St. Andrew parish finals will be held tomorrow, also at the newspaper's downtown Kingston offices, starting at 9:00 a.m.

On Friday, the spelling bee team will travel to the west to conduct the St. James parish finals at the Burchell Baptist Church Hall. This will begin at 10:00 a.m.
