THE EDITOR, Sir:
I HOPE this letter to you will reach the eyes of the relevant authorities and they will decide to do something to rectify the situations before someone dies.
In December of 2003, I tripped and fell over an exposed pipe in the Pineapple Place section of Ocho Rios. The National Water Commission left the pipe exposed over a sidewalk where a handicapped or elderly person would most likely fall. I suffered a bruised face then.
ANOTHER FALL
Last Friday, I fell again. This time in Buckfield section of Ocho Rios near to the ball park where work was done on the sidewalk and electrical wires left exposed in a crater under the traffic light. This time I suffered a battered knee.
The sick, the old and the handicapped are not considered viable human beings in Jamaica these days.
Maybe the word 'litigate' will soon become a part of my vocabulary, that is if I live to tell the tale.
I am etc.,
