The following are more nominees for this year's prestigious Gleaner Honour Awards:

EDUCATION AND PUBLIC SERVICE

Alpha: For its role in educating the young; it has an infant, a primary, a secondary department and a department catering for boys.

Father Richard Ho Lung: For his work with the poor people of Jamaica as head of the Missionaries of the Poor.

Dr. Carlton Davis: For his work in making the public sector more efficient.

Desmond McKenzie: For his outstanding work to restore pride to the city of Kingston.

Ohene Blake: For the significant impact on youth leaders by revolutionising the students' movement.

Ambassador Madge Barrett: For her long and distinguished service in the public sector.

Creative Production and Training Centre: For 25 years of exemplary public education and information service to Jamaica.

Portia Simpson Miller: For facilitating the Reggae Boyz football team.

P.J. Patterson: For his record years of service as Prime Minister of Jamaica and for his outstanding leadership.
