ATTORNEY-AT-LAW DONNA Scott-Mottley was yesterday sworn in as the newest Government Senator at Gordon House.

Mrs. Scott-Mottley, a former senator and an attorney-at-law, returned to the Senate promising to uphold all duties of the Upper House.

Deputy Leader of Government Business, Senator A.J. Nicholson, in welcoming Mrs. Scott-Mottley, said her return would greatly enrich the Senate.

WELCOMED BACK

"We welcome her return to this chamber and we know that since she understands the trapezes of parliamentary and political life, she will not be found wanting in any regard," he said.

Leader of Opposition Business, Senator Anthony Johnson, said the Senate would benefit from her skills as an attorney-at-law.

Mrs. Scott-Mottley replaces Keste Miller who resigned from the Senate last month to take up the post as head of the Caribbean Diaspora in the United Kingdom.

Mrs. Scott-Mottley was also a former Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture when the People's National Party won the 1989 General Election.
