Congrats, St Mary champs
published: Friday | November 4, 2005

THE EDITOR, Sir:

PLEASE ALLOW me to extend hearty congratulations to the St. Mary Champions of the Gleaner's Children's Own Spelling Bee competition. The results are particularly exciting for us here in South East St. Mary as the top four spellers - Javier Brown of Gospel Chapel Prep, Wayne Davis of Annotto Bay All-Age, Sashana Bennett of Annotto Bay High, and Melissa Hall of Castleton Primary and Junior High - all attend schools within the geographic area defined as south east St. Mary.

The truth is, this outcome is but one manifestation of the continued commitment of the teachers and Member of Parliament, Hon. Harry Douglas, to education. Our strong commitment to the education of our youth and the general populace will long continue to be at the forefront of our mission as we seek to advance a developmental agenda in the South East St. Mary constituency.

Once again, congratulations to the spellers and continued success as you move further in the competition.

I am, etc.,

Christopher R. Brown

Caretaker
