THE JAMAICA Netball Association (JNA) has formed an alliance with the NEM Insurance Company to offset some of the costs ahead of the Jamaica's tri-Test Netball series against Australia which begins this evening.

NEM has offered $750,000 towards the costs associated with the tour which starts at 5:30 p.m.

The announcement was made by the company's managing director, Errol Ziadie, during a press conference held at the Eden Gardens Restaurant on Lady Musgrave Road in Kingston yesterday.

According to JNA president Sharon Donaldson, the money will be used to help with security, transportation, accommodation and the use of the National Indoor Sports Centre (NISC).

How much the tour will cost the JNA has not been disclosed, but the sponsorship has been declared as just a partial one. However, Ziadie said his company would continue to try to help.

"The JNA is still in negotiations with some other companies at this time. If that falls through then NEM will be there to back them (NEM) up," he said. Donaldson responded to the sponsorship by saying: "We aim to do our part by ensuring that we field world-class teams."

Donaldson also went on to point out that the JNA has achieved much with very little and that the support of corporate Jamaica was crucial to those achievements.
