Government unveils investment manual
published: Wednesday | November 9, 2005

RUNNING FROM one Government office to the next just trying to get information on licences and regulations can really be a hassle. Well, fret no longer!

The entire process has been made a lot easier with yesterday's launch of the Development and Investment Manual.

The manual was launched as part of the Legs and Regs Project, initiated in 2003, to help demystify the entire process. The project is a joint venture between the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, the Government and the United States Agency for International Development.

The manual lists, all in one place, the different processes to be followed by potential investors and developers. This includes information on the licences required for certain ventures and the regulations surrounding the environment.

Karen Turner, USAID mission director, said that by clarifying the process of development, the manual may encourage investment.
