RIVOLI FOOTBALL Club and Constant Spring played to a 0-0 draw in their Wray and Nephew National Premier League encounter at the Spanish Town Prison Oval yesterday afternoon.
The match, which was played before a fair-sized crowd, saw both teams playing good football.
The first half ended 0-0 with Constant Spring having the better half of ball possession.
In the second half Rivoli started to take the game to their less fancied opponents through some good passing between Garfield Reid, Ricardo Planter and his brother Derrick. However, they committed the cardinal sin of failing to capitalize on their chances.
According to Anthony Thompson, coach of Rivoli, his team played well but failed to score when it mattered most.
"We played a good brand of football today and I am encouraged by the cohesiveness. However, we did not score and I trust that the rest of our matches will be a different thing."
Danny Lyn, the coach of Constant Spring, did not comment.
Rivoli now move onto 12 points, while Constant Spring remained bottom of the 12-team standings on five points.
In the curtain raiser, the Under-21 fixture, Rivoli came out 2-0 winners through goals from Sheldon Sharpe in the fourth minute and Christopher Morrison in the 53rd minute of play.
Both games were played without much incident.
