Elton John desperate to become a 'Housewife'
published: Tuesday | November 15, 2005

JOHN

BANGSHOWBIZ.COM:

SIR ELTON John is said to be begging for a role in United States drama Desperate Housewives.

The ageing rocker is reportedly a huge fan of the hit series and is pleading with actress Teri Hatcher to help him get a part.

The singer is said to have approached Hatcher, who plays Susan in the show, when she starred in his video for Turn The Lights Out When You Leave.

Elton is quoted as saying: "It's so bitchy and funny! I'd love to do Desperate Housewives!"

Last month it was revealed the star is making a TV show based on himself.

The singer's comedy - which will focus on an over-the-hill rock star, his manager and his hangers on - has been given the green light by U.S. TV bosses.

The project, dubbed 'Him and Us', will air on America's ABC network.

Elton said: "Basically it's about the entourage around a star called Max Flash who have to put up with this bd!"

The star has also admitted he drew inspiration from legendary rockers like Sir Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Rod Stewart.

He said: "Max Flash is based on me, Mick, Bowie, Rod, all these outrageously behaving rock stars."
